Under the ageis of National Rural Health Mission the State ASHA Resource Center was born on February 21, 2009 through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between NRHM and Don Bosco Institute (DBI) as a training center for the ASHA workers and ASHA Facilitators. It is a center which will strengthen the ASHA programme in the state.
The aim of the SARC is to motivate the ASHAs and ASHA facilitators and equip them with technical and motivational skills to bring quality health services to the remote and inaccessible rural areas. It will be involved in the training and capacity building of these essential grass root level workers to enable them to bring about changes in the health scenario of the state.
Vision
To keep the ASHAs and the ASHA Facilitators motivated to work for the community so as to enable them, in accessing equitable, affordable, and quality health care provided by NRHM.
Mission
To provide technical, non technical support & capacity building for strengthening the ASHAs and ASHA Facilitators to improve the health system of the state.
Objectives

To develop the capacities of the grassroot level health workers so as to reach health care to the community.

Through continuous training and orientation programmes, develop the ASHAs & ASHA Facilitators to take ownership of the community and the programme.

Assist the NRHM in reducing MMR, IMR & TFR through effective training & monitoring of the ASHAs & ASHA Facilitators.
>
Prepare and update an extensive data base of information on crucial indicators which will assist the NRHM in planning their future strategies.
